In 2006, the first Open Atelier Route was organized on Curaçao, and in 2024, the 6th edition took place, with over 50 participating artists. The organizing committee includes Avantia Damberg, Daniëlla de Windt, Marcel van Duijneveldt, and Ellen Spijkstra.

The Open Atelier Route is an accessible event where a wide audience can learn about local visual artists in a fun way. Who does what; with which materials and techniques? What is their workspace like and what are their sources of inspiration? Art with a big and small 'k,' including outsider art, in a wide variety of disciplines: painting, sculpture, recycle art, jewelry, ceramics, photography, and mixed media. 

The route takes you to surprising places, allowing you to see and experience the island in a different way simultaneously.
